    I looked high and low for this shaft seal- no joy. Went to the local hydraulics shoppe and pleaded for help. When i told them it was for a boat- they shook their head. I hung mine down. But .6 days later they called. $5.29 including installation. Here is the part number and related...

    UPDATE PROBLEM SOLVED Reed (finger) valves replaced. Johnson Evinrude Power Reed Kit 50 Hp 2 Cylinder 1971-2005 Boyesen 124 Back to normal smoke at idle. Thank you for all the inputs.
