    hey, thanks for the info it really brightened up my day thought it might be junk. when i install a heli-coil do you have to remove the head and if so can i find a head gasket for this year motor.how do i trace the # so i can find out what year motor it is? it's a late 50's 7.5 fleetwin evinrude...

    the topic for 5 horse evinrude is actually a 7.5 horse evinrude not a 5 horse, broken pull start return spring and stripped spark plug threads

    late 50's 5 hp evinrude (no fuel pump)

    i've got 2 problems with my evinrude 5 hp. first i need the pull starter return spring, mine recently broke and i cant seem to find anyone with a replacement. second is it ok to put a heli-coil insert in the spark plug hole i stripped the threads out yesterday. thanks ahead of time.
