    Installing a trim gauge

    Is it possible to install an aftermarket trim gauge on a '79 90hp Mercury? If so, how does it work?

    Will running a motor with a non-functioning rectifier mess anything up?

    I hooked up my battery backwards and now the rectifier doesn't work but the motor runs. Does it harm anything to run it other then it not charging the battery?

    Installing a tach on a 79 90hp Mercury

    I would like to have a tach for my inline six. There is a round plug on the front side of the shifter-thingie (whatever it's called). Does that mean I can hook into there? How can I test it at the plug to make sure it will work before I buy a tach?
