    Swap 1991 88spl lower onto 1995 112 spl.

    It seems the only difference is a two piece driveshaft on a 1995 how do I determine if it's really a 1991 lower unit without disassembling it to see if the driveshaft is one or two piece? I was hoping to just put the 1991 unit on my 1995 motor. Are there any other differences or should I just...

    Lower shift shaft seals can't get back in!

    My drive was up and I noticed the oil running out the lower shift shaft seal. Pulled lower drive exposing water pump area. Removed the two bolts holding the lower shift shaft in place to replace the seal. Now I can't get the shaft to go the last 3/8 inch down so I can reinstall the screws...
