    Timing marks corroded on Merc 3.0L

    The timing marks on my 1994 Mercruiser 3.L are corroded. All I see is 6 triangular teeth. (Currently my engine idles at the 4th tooth from the "bottom".) Can anybody shed some light as to what numbers correspond with what tooth? Thanx in advance to all who reply. ezjam
