for a couple of weeks it would just click...so i would tap the starter a couple of times and it would engage and crank the engine. it would run great after that.
then the boat would sit for a week, and again...try to start...click click click.

sounds good on the hose. idles perfect in the water. starts right up.
pushes the boat MAYBE 5 mph. no power at all.

hey all, i FINALLY got this thing running well after a rebuild on the carbs and adjusting the throttle linkage.
so after that....i took the boat out to test it out.
it wont go past 10/20 mph. it has no power.
what are some things to look at that could cause this...?

so a few weeks ago, i couldnt get the engine to fire. after checking compression...spark, etc etc it came down to the carbs.
so i got some rebuilt carbs and threw them on.
i put the boat in the water today to test them out. the engine fires and then idles...
i have a few questions, looking for some basic tips, things to look for...
as this is a new boat to me...

when i got it, the engine would fire right up on first or second crank.
then after a few times of doing that. no more fire.
