March is approaching quickly and I've got an engine coupler to replace. Its in a '88 searay 270 amberjack with twin 4.3l and alpha 1 drives. coupler is not spun, but teeth appear to be pointed on port engine.
I was thinking about laying a 6x6 across gunwhales and lifting motor...

I have a '88 searay 270 amberjack w/ twin 4.3L and alpha 1 drives with 19 pitch mercury mirage stainless props. I want to switch to aluminum props and was told that I would need to increase pitch on aluminum props. Is this true?

noticed today on shakedown cruise that my engines are running hot at idle (185), but when engines are throttled up, engines cool right down (145)......I will be changing impellers tomorrow.....any other causes of this that i should look for??? thank you
is it possible to add the gear lube reservoir to a '88 searay with alpha 1's. This boat is moored all summer and i'm thinking this would give me a little more "piece of mind". Also, any information on where to purchase these would be helpful. thank you

Winterizing boat and one of my drives wouldnt drain, so i split case thinking that the hole between the 2 halves was obstructed. once case was split oil drained from both halves freely. i checked everything out and seemed ok, so i put drive back...
'85 searay 255 amberjack w/ twin 3.8L V6's in front of 800 series omc drives. My problem is this: Both engines show that they are charging at 16+ volts when running. I am going to check voltage at batteries tomorrow with a meter, but my question is....is there anything other than the alternators...

Well...i have a carb issue with a quadrajet 4 barrel...carb was rebuilt over the winter (soaked and blown out with air) put the boat in last week, fine tuned idle mixture screws and let sit and idle for a good hour, no problems...went fishing the other day and both engines ran perfect....i troll...

what anodes should i be using for freshwater (lake michigan)...i bought some on the internet last year and they still look new at the end of the season.....usually they are pretty ate up after 1 season in water.....not sure if they were zinc, aluminum, or magnesium??? what type is recommended...
