    1987 Johnson Charging Problem

    Hello, My 1987 Johnson 140 hp runs like a bat out of hell, however, this season the battery stopped charging. I replaced the rectifier/regulator and it worked for a day then nothing! What Am I doing wrong? What would keep blowing the rectifier? :confused::mad:

    '77 mercury 4hp cooling

    Hi everyone, Just bought a '77 merc 4hp kicker. It runs great. My question is...how much water should come out of the exhaust while it is running. Now just a little sprays out through approx. 6 holes. Is this normal? After an hour the cover gets fairly hot however the engine runs fine.

    Johnson 140 vro2 removal / reinstallation

    I just replaced my 1987 Johnson 140 horse water pump impeller. Went to start the engine (first time this year) and gas was pouring out of the vro unit. Took it apart, cleaned off o-ring and put it back together. Installed the unit :confused: with no leak this time when I squease the gas...
