    Hey guys, I have an 05 Yamaha VMax 150 2 stroke. My Trim Gauge is stuck in the up position on an 05 Triton TR186. I looked for a fuse but, couldn't find one, I went to the sensor on the front of the outboard and it does move freely but the gauge doesn't move. There are 3 Tilt/Trim switches on...

    Oh, ok I gotcha, I've really only heard it referred to as "Poppet Valve". I've never had this problem before with any of my previous boats (Skeeter, ProCraft), so I never really gave it much thought. Thank you for clarifying this for me!!

    You know, I always get the factory service manual every time I get a new Harley. I think you're right... I should do the same with an outboard!! Thank you!!

    Me neither, it was just something I found. I've gotten ALL kinds of suggestions on what that alarm could have been, from the water pump to the poppet valve, to the oil tank on the motor... I mean, alot of the things I did replace, I was going to do anyway because I did not know the boats history...

    UPDATE!! Replaced water pump and poppet valve along with all the above mentioned and FINALLY got to start it up. Let it idle for about 10 minutes, revved it a few times and... No Alarm!! once again thank you all for your suggestions!!

    Ok, just giving an update on my question about "Overheat Alarm at Idle" question. So far I have been able to rule out... The Oil Tank on the motor, while testing I also found out that the "Oil Pressure Idiot Light" does work! (Bonus!!) I also ruled out the 2 Thermosensor switches as both tested...

    Both reservoirs are full, but I can't quite get the screen out yet to check for anything floating. Unfortunately, I won't be able to do any work on it till the morning. However I will get back to as soon as I find out.

    Hello, I just purchased a 2005 V-Max V150TLRD and when I start it up I get a constant alarm going off. I was told it sounded like the overheating alarm. Now I DO have a nice steady stream coming out of the "Tell Tale", none of the "Idiot lights" came on (if they even work) and the water pressure...
