So I have a 83 15horse mariner that leaks from the side of the head, ive pulled the head off and found that the block has corroded away near the thermostat housing to the point it no longer seals with the gasket, my question is does any one know what the block is made out of and can it be welded...
hi guys, i have a 96 90 hp merc that now wont give me a gear, i was out fishing and when i was coming back in it just popped out of gear and free revved,no forward no reverse, any ideas on cause would be apreciated, thanks guys
I have a 10ft copy of the zodiac cadet, yes a copy but it is made very well and is stronger under the tubes than the zodiac but its rated for a 15, has anyone put a tohatsu 18, they are the same weight but hp is obviously more, just had me thinking? Thoughts please?
I have a 90 hp merc that I've been told is a 96 model but the serial no's on the plate are non existant, where should I be looking on the engine to identify this motor, thanks guys
Hi Guys, I have a 15HP mariner 83 model from best i can tell, when cold it starts and runs fine with lots o water coming out the telltale but when it warms up the water flow stops and engine overheats, is this just a blocked thermostat or water passages? Any help would be apreciated.

Hi all, New to the forum but seems your a smart bunch o people out there, I have a 83 ( best i can tell) 15m mariner which been sittin around my garage for ages, even worse it was sitting in an old 44 gallon drum and yep the water is all rusty and crap! motor is now out and still a litlle rusty...
