Motor starts great, runs fine if I give it full throttle (cruises at 4400 rpms) but when it runs under 2000 RPM's it runs out of fuel. The primer ball goes soft so I must pump it to keep the engine running. I do have a spin on water separator filter in line. Any help would be great. Thanks
2003 Mercury 115 - 4 cylinder 2 stroke. Batteries were not charging so I replaced the rectifier. I'm getting 14.7 volts now at the batteries. Tach worked fine but the next day I have no tach. Checked the pulse at the tach and have 12.5 volts. Is there anyway to test tach ? Any help with this...
115 hp 2 stroke mercury. Have 2 batteries on a perko battery switch. House battery runs GPS and live well air pump. Air pump is on a timer switch off 3 minutes and runs 30 seconds. New battery (size 24 600CCA) will drain down after about 8 hours running GPS and live well. Checked engine charging...
Looks like there is fuel out the exhaust after running and shutting off the motor. Does not do it all the time. Just rebuilt the fuel pump thinking maybe that was the problem. Any help as to what to check would be great. Thanks
The rebuild kit has 4 small disc. 2 are white plastic and 2 are black rubber. These are held in place with a small stake pin. When I disassembled my fuel pump it only had the white plastic disc. Should I be using the plastic and rubber disc or just the plastic ? I am rebuilding the fuel pump due...

Went to run motor down and the pump runs but it takes about 10 seconds for it to start going down . Once it starts to work it works fine up and down. Checked fluid and could only add about 3 oz. After it sits overnight then the pump motor again runs about 10 seconds and starts down. Not sure...

The oil reserve tank leaks oil when the motor is in the up position. It is coming out around the twist cap (fill cap) on the oil tank. Anyone else having the same problem and how did you fix it ? Thanks
Ground wire from starter solenoid does not ground on motor. Had to run a jumper to the negative battery location to make solenoid work. Cleaned connections and still does not work. Any ideas would be great. Thanks
Starts great, idles great runs great at 1/3 throttle. Try to run @ WOT it falls off after a few seconds of running. Pull the throttle back to idle wait a few seconds and it will rev up again and do the same thing. It never quits running or stalls.
Powerhead is new and it has a VRO fuel pump...
Just purchased this motor and the tach moves but it nevers goes over 2500 rpm.
Not sure what to check next. Rectifier test OK but only getting 8.5 volts on purple wire to tach. Can I get 12 volts from a hot wire from the battery? Any help would be great
