1972 3 cyl 65hp merc. slowed to about 1/4 trottle compresion is good but top cyl is melted is it possible to get the rest of the year out of it or am i looking for a motor.

From another board someone sugested hooking to rectifier for another boater I thought what the heck frustration has me trying anything and lo and behold it works not sure if it reads right but it seems right for the idle speed it was running. now I just hope that it wont wreak anything else.
