    Crazy tach

    I have a 88 erude 120 looper engine runs fine,elect differant matter, shows correct rpms to 2,000 then goes crazy, sits at 7,000 until I go back to idle; also voltage guage shows 12 whereas norm 13.5. could this be loose connection or perhaps bad regulator

    tubing

    merc 01 60 hp tubing below the leg and above l/u son just purchased, upon inspection noticed small fitting without this tube, looked at owners manuel it shows tube, but doesn't explain purpose, i would think it had something to do with water. don't have a manuel as of yet, thanks

    have question re: what would cause large amount of smoke at startup? 1988 erude 120 looper, am pre/mixing @50:1, disconnected vro using pensoil 100% syn. after inital startup no smoke but after letting set 4 or 5 hrs or more smoke. before i changed over to syn. condition was considerably worse...

    temp.

    i have 88 120 hp evinrude, running wot have 12 psi and shows temp in normal zone, at idle 8psi and temp in normal, but 1200 rpm in "no wake zone" 10 psi temp climbs right to white , should i have reason to be alarmed? thanks,

    synthetic oil

    hi gents, would like to know if 100% synthetic oil should be run at 50:1 or 80:1 or 100:1 in my 1988 evinrude 120 looper,vro is disconected i do pre mix, and if i do run at 50:1 would i see less smoke, than i do now w/johnny rude oil or would i have to run at 100:1 thanks

    prop clearence

    Question, How much clearence btwn prop and antiventilation plate? Right now I have 3/8 in, I was told to run larger dia.     fuel line disconect

    hello I recently purchased a 1988 rude 120 hp, took boat to lake, ran fine, went to disconect fuel line to run carbs dry,and found no quick disconect.should this engine have one? What is sop on running fuel out of carbs? It is built in fuel tank not portable.thanks
