I have a 1987 25 horse merc serial #ob244539. I just purchased it and it hasnt been run for a while. It ran good first day then the problems started. First the fuel pump diaphraghm was leaking, we replaced it. Still more problems, wont start or stay running. My mechanic buddy says the float is...
I pump the bulb, it doesnt harden up. I hear a noise almost like a soft duck quack behind the carb area. First I replaced the zip ties on fuel lines with hose clamps but noise is still there. I suspect maybe a seal leak? Engine will run but stall due to lack of fuel I suspect.
