Just installed the rebuilt powerhead. sent it the shop to get the spark advanced timed etc... went to take it for a test run, it idles fine and runs on midrange fine . but when i try to get on step it has no power. i finally get it to plane and all i get is 4400rpm's. the engine doesn't stutter...
i have a 1987 225 johnson. i recently overheated the engine while running.the over heat buuzzer didn't go off and engine shut down. now i have no fire. i think i burnt the stator. what else i could have done? the engine still turns over but got really hot.
I have a '92 rude xp and a '87 225. I took the carbs off of the 225 and put them on the 200 due to the 200 has 40 hours on a new rebuild. do i have to change the cylinder heads also to make the 200 a 225. the 200 is also bored .030 over and is a big bore engine. all parts are compatable. :confused:
