    Does a tilt/trim motor actually reverse to switch directions; have Mercury 225, will come up but not down, yet can here motor running when switch in down position. Sounds more like a loud hum than when the motor engages and motor tilts.

    Motor running good then generator belt broke right at dock, replaced belt and now seem to be getting no power to the starter. Turn key and nothing. Has to be related to the belt breaking, but don't know how. Any suggestions what to check?

    Have Proline 25', twin 225's. Out Saturday and one engine when restarted, raced full throttle. Was turned off immediately. Got home and with throttle cable off, muffs on, started and raced again so turned off immediately. What could cause this engine to be racing so extremely fast when started.
