I bought a rebuilt 1975 140 but a valve fell apart for some reason and destroyed the piston and I would think the head as well. I have a head from a 120 if I were to get the piston replaced is it possible to use the 120 head? Thank you for any advice.
I am trying to piece together a 70s Mercruiser 140 and got an unused Carter low pressure mechanical fuel pump at a garage sale. It has a marked inlet and outlet plus another port below the marked outlet. I can't find any information on this any where but am assuming it's for a water separator...

I recently acquired two identical 1960s Mercruiser 120 HP engines, on one the pistons are stamped "00" on the other engine the pistons are stamped "30". I am wondering if anyone knows why they would be different?
A newly acquired boat is slightly too heavy for the trailer. My thoughts are to move the existing axle back and add a new axle on the front. My concern is that if I match the existing axle the suspension would be too stiff and rated for 7000 lbs. - about twice of what I need.

I just put in a new CDI power pack but apparently deep cycle batteries, auto batteries, maintenance free and dry cell batteries can burn the CD module out again, I am wondering if anyone knows what kind of battery can be purchased that would work with this power pack?
