Howdy folds….when I got some parts for my 40HP, the guy gave me a carb from a 70HP force. It sure looks exactly the same. I would need to use the float and bowl from my 40HP.
I know that I can swap the 50HP carb and it will make my motor a 50HP, but what about using this 70HP? Would this carb...
I don’t have a compression tester and the spark is good.
So I turned out the air-fuel screw 1/4 turn and adjusted the high idle screw until it was keeping the engine at a higher idle. Worked really well. I will adjust it a bit more.
I think I am done playing with the adjustments for the...
So my recently fixed 40HP (stator and regulator/rectifier) has developed an issue with starting.
Here is my starting routine:
1. Squeeze the fuel bulb until it is firm.
2. Push in and turn key
3. Coughs one quick cough and then spins and spins. (It used to fire up at this point and idle...
As an update….I went to my local guy who has the same motor as mine and got the stator, trigger, regulator/rectifier, coils and the wiring harness for 300. I swapped out the stator and the regulator/rectifier and it purrs like a kitten now.
It does need a slide idle adjustment and then it...
Another thing i noticed when I was driving it before it crapped out….the RPM readings were a bit erratic (jumping from 4000 to 7000). As I am reading, it seems lIke the stator might be related to the rpm. Is it fair to say that could have been an indication that it was about to crap out?
I...
I’m from canada. So a Merc stator is $600 here. Very tough to find a marine parts store that will ship to canada…then the exchange kills me
The voltage regulator/rectifier is $500 here!
That is where i got the 600ohm spec. Thanks.
Would you rather get a used oem stator from another old Force or a new amazon china special? They are both the same price?
