I just installed a complete new water pump kit in my 74 Merc, hooked a hose up to the lower unit, turned on the water and started the engine it pumps out in a steady stream but it pumps out erratically , do I have an impeller blade or two going in the wrong direction? Thanks, Fred
Is there any special direction the impeller blades are supposed to rotate or face in the water pump housing? I had to grind my old one off the shaft, and in my enthusiasm, i did not pay attention to which way what was left of the blades were going. I now have the blades going counterclockwise...
