    exhaust gas-telltale

    1971 9.8 mercury<br />When i first start motor,smoke and exhaust gas come out of tell-tale,water starts pumping after about 15 seconds-but smoke and exhaust gases keep coming out,is this normal??Also,won't run at low speed. replaced impellor and key,also cleaned carb and installed carb kit...
