This may be a stupid question but... Is there any real difference in the Quicksilver high performance gear lube and the much less expensive LU gear oil? Other than the integrity of the warranty?
My alpha one has been leaking drive oil. When trailered (trim fully up), it leaks from the drain hole just above the shift linkage. When trim down, it leaks from the drain hole on the lower unit just below the lower unit rear mounting bolts.<br /><br />I changed the upper seals and it still...
Does anyone know the procedure for changing the two oil seals in the upper gear housing. These are the two seals that are below the driven gear. I'm confused on wether they should be pressed in or just hand pushed. Also, does it matter what orientation the lip on the seals should face?<br...
Hello,<br /><br />I have a constant leak when the boat is parked and not running. It appears to be coming from a drain hole just above the shift coupler. It is clean drive oil with no water. I did have the LU off recently but I replaced all the gaskets with new ones.<br /><br />Thanks in advance!
