I have a '88 evinrude 25hp. After running the motor for awhile when I let off the throttle back to idle the motor shuts off and is very hard to crank without letting it sit for 10 to 15 minutes.I have a service manual but nothing addresses this type of problem.
I have a 1988 evinrude 25 hp electric start outboard. When it is running at almost wot it runs fine but when slowing it sputters and cuts off. I've been told the carb is dirty. My problem is I can't figure out to get it off. The starter is in the way of one of the carb studs.
