    Can I put a 28 hp Johnson on my 14' Aluminum Sea King?

    we have a 14 ft springbok [now princecraft [that has had 10 to 40hp on the back of it. the boat was rated for 40hp in 1959. the last motor was a 25hp johnson with a 10x15 pitch prop and it did 32mph with one person on board. my bet is you can put up to 40 or 50hp on the back and it won,t sink.

    I would look for a used 15 or 14.5X18 so your RPM,s will be right on the money. face book market place or kijiji. It will probably be stainless.

    I have a thundercraft firebird 143V (canadian) with a 90hp mercury 3cylinder. The boat weighs 600-700lbs. With a 13.5X21 turning point prop i get 44mph at 5800rpms. With a slightly damaged 13.5X23 turning point prop i get 46mph. should i get a stainless 23p or maybe a 22p stainless. what are...

    Old 2-Cycle Mercury Oil Leak

    I just went through the same thing. I replaced all the lines rebuilt the carbs but i eliminated the oil injection because the motor was new to me and it is 40 odd years old. Same motor 1989 90HP. IT runs great so far.

    CHARGING QUESTION

    Well a new quality regulator solved the problem. It stays at 13 volts at idle and 15-16 volts at 5400 rpm.

    it is a CDI stator so there is no color. I,m going to get a mercury rectifier first and see what happens. thanks.
