    I have an old BF75L Ser# 1300653. I have 2 questions. 1 what year is it? 2 is it possible to convert it to electric start. My owners manual does not show one. and of course it has no ring gear. The newer 8 hp do have that option.

    tilt on 78 mariner 48

    There is no tilt or trim on this motor. It has the mounts, which are part of the motor castings. So how do I hold the motor in the tilted up position while towing? Currently I block it up with a c clamp. Does anyone have an elgant solution to this problem?:confused:

    mariner / Yamaha contro box

    I need a control box and cables for my 1978 mariner 48. It is manual start so starter and tnt controls are not needed. The dealer says A mariner / Yamaha or a pre 85 yamaha. But how do I identify one tha will work. a Yami 703?? A merc quiksilver. A mariner ???:confused:

    I am interested in the practicality of converting a 78 48HP mariner to electric start. It would require a new flywheel and a starter motor. Can this be done for cheap. If so ???
