I've been thinking of getting an efficient 2 stroke; wondering when fuel injection was introduced (tldi, dfi, etc.) Especially interested in Yamaha ;Nissan.
Thanks
Got my motor back from shop, finally working well; but, throttle cam won't open butterfly valves to level. I have Clymer manual, and did linkage set-up over using the manual. Checked cranking timing( 28 deg.) ( Start with cam opening butterflies level (WOT) , then at 750 rpm idle cam just...
A shop rebuilt my carbs, runs really well but Is a little slower, I can tell it's not opening up as before rebuild. I don't have a tach yet.. Before ran 36, now about 31.
(17' bayliner). I've looked at the linkages; any ideas?
I'm taking apart a 90 HP 1990 to sell parts. Does anyone know how to remove the Tilt- trim main horizontal pin (it has a Grease fitting on left end). There are no nuts on it?
I have an 85 hp force 1989. Carbs rebuilt 1 year ago. Sat outside over winter ; when I pressurize the bulb gas comes out overflow holes, also when running lowest cab overflowing gas. I assume stuck float or needle?? Any ideas?
Starting perfect, runs good , but after some running idle drops to where its hard to restart, even the neutral start in rev position not as much rev as when first starting. Same advice as 90hp similar post??

how much cylinder scoring is acceptable on a supposedly rebuilt motor. There are very visible scratches all around all cylinders and feel rough when checked with a tool.
I just got this motor used; the 3 lines out( 3 carbs) from the oil pump have little metal cylinders spliced in the middle. Are these supposed to be there, or have they been installed to disable or bypass the oil injection? They have a little arrow on them pointing toward the carb.

Hey folks; I've got a 1989 bayliner capri 1700 with stock force 85. On NADA web site it lists weight as 1475 #. Also says value includes motor and trailer, but I'm thinking they mean dollar value. Wondering what boat and motor weigh??

Any general info on preference for i/o vs. outboard such as speed, gas mileage, any advice??<br />Also, aren't i/o all 4 stroke. Thanks for your thoughts.
I think air -gas mixture is exchanging in crankcase between top two cylinders; not good suction at carb throats; 85 HP 89 Force 3 Cyl. compression etc good. Is it possible to do new crankcase seals or crankshaft seals without taking out power head completely?
