    Help me help a friend......Mariner Magnum 40HP wont break 3000RPM

    Have a friend that has a Key Largo 160 16' Center Console. Mariner Magnum 40 HP 2001 motor. Fuel seems to be good at bulb and it if fresh. Seems to also run good but it will not go over 300RPM. Prop is 10 5/8 X 12 Degree. Idols well just doesnt seem to get there.......

    Merc 1971 WMK-4 Carb Rebuild Gasket Related Question....Please shed some light....

    OK...Got it started but didn't last long. 1971 Merc 1350.

    Boat has set for a while. Got it out. Starter works. Compression good and almost same in each cylinder. Fairly new plugs. Tried to start and could not get it to run. Ended up changing the floats in each carb (top carb float was saturated, floats have never been changed). Checked bowl screens...

    1971 Mercury 1350 Steering Issue (16' Glastron)

    I have a 1350 on a 16' Glastron. Due to schedule I have nut used at all this year. Got time to take it out and my steering is frozen. I applied grease thru the fill nozzle at the rear tube (did not work). Wheel turns about 1"-2" in each direction. Took connection off of motor. Motor moves fine...

    At what point do you compress / collapse or cram impeller into housing?

    I have seen numerous posts and read the manual regarding water pump / impeller replacement....I still don't understand on when / how you get the big-*** star into the smaller pump housing? What point is it done? Any insight? Thanks in advance!!!!!

    1971 Trim Pump Replacement Question (135hp)

    A couple of people have mentioned that I can replace my old (4) hose trim pump with the T1088MSK. It appears that this has (2) hose ports. Is there an adapter that would split the low and high ports? or is there another way to do it? Thanks

    Breaker Point or Breakerless Ignition (1971 Model 1350)

    Can anyone tell me if the Model Number 1350 (1971) has a breaker point or breakerless ignition. I am going to install a tach and there are two different methods of wiring......does it matter if I try one method or the other? Ser # 3116298
