    I got marine wire and ran my wires, all new. Crimped, shrunk and painted with liquid tape.<br />Turned the key and got a click-a single click. Battery is charged,checked with meter.     Does this sound correct so far:<br /> #4 cable from pos. battery to solenoid<br /> #4 from neg batt to side of motor <br /> #4 from solenoid to starter<br /> No other wires to the starter?

    1960 evinrude 40hp #35520 Lark 40 I will be replacing my 2nd solenoid with less than 6 hrs running time. My book says use a marine solenoid but i was talked into using an automotive one and Duh! gotta be replaced already. Is there a difference?

    no range in throttle cable

    I was only getting about 4" throttle movement in my two lever ratchett style shift box, so i disconnected cable at motor and it slides beautiffully, But why? My volume 1 - 1956 to 70 johnson evinrude outboaed tune up and repair manual 1.5 thru 40 hp by seloc publications does not cover this...
