    Merc 5.7 L submerged - how bad?

    Engine (and boat) was submerged for about 4 hours.<br />I have 5.7L 260HP 1986 Mercruiser.<br />How bad the damage could be?<br />Should I try to fix the engine or rebuild or it is garbage now?<br />Please advice and what steps I should do to fix it if it's possible?<br />Thanks.<br />Gleb.

    Merc 260 OMC Thorttle does not release gear

    Hi!<br />I have a problem with shifter / throttle!<br />when you press the gear release button, it does not release gear and I am unable to start the boat. I opened the shifter and looks like the gear release button is weared out or broken. It is impossible to look into the actual mechanics...
