    1995 9.9 johnson 4 stroke knocking sound?

    only notice it at idle in nuetral, higher rpms in gear its gone, sounds like rod knock or valve i dunno

    have 2 questions 2 motors just alike, 1 runs perfectly but has like a tick or knock while idling, fresh oil and filter, 2nd the other motor just like it idles but wont take gas, idle only, if i squeeze the bulb line while accelerating it will take it, changed tank and gas and bulb line, maybe...

    2stroke vs 4stroke?

    i have a 99 johnson 9.9 2stroke and my understanding it puts out 6 amps @ wot?, was thinking going to a 4 stroke 9.9, any advantages? maybe charge battery better? i know its straight gas 1 adv and quieter ???

    charging question?

    i have a johnson 99 model 9.9 2 stroke just wondered if they charge battery to run lights radio etc...., i had a older 85 model that did but not enuff to keep battery charged, any help would be appreciated
