    79 Merc 150 starter issue

    I have a 79 Merc 150. Sometimes when I try and start it all I get is a click. I have to open the cowling and spin the starter drive assy (part that engages flywheel with teeth) so it is closer to the flywheel. After I do this it turns over without issues. Is my starter going bad?

    Lower unit leak

    I have a 79 Merc 150 that has a lower unit leak. The oil is leaking near the prop and I think it's the prop shaft seals. Does the carrier have to be removed to change these? Also what other seals should be changed if I drop the lower unit. Thanks for any info.

    I was out today and noticed when i gave it throttle it was like a clutch was engaging and the boat would not go anywhere. Like a bearing is spinning durig throttle. What could this be?
