OH OH I was given a boat with a 1985 Johnson 40 "VRO" on it, when I looked up VRO here people are talking about oil tanks etc. The guy who I got it from says he runs it 50:1 and theres no oil tank etc with it. Am I killing the motor or is this safe ?
Anyone redone one of these ?? anyway I just cut out the floor and removed the soggy foam and rotted wood, and am down to bare hull. Do you think the closed cell isulation sheets used in houses would work for flotation???
I have a 14' fiberglass v hull boat. it seems to be hollow between the floor and hull but there may be foam in there. how do you check for a waterlogged condition in the foam ?????? and are there any remadies for this ????
I have a 1975 14' Olympic fiberglass boat with a 40 hp johnson. We took it out yesterday for the first time and it seemed to be stern heavy. I was expecting it to go a little faster than it did. When an adult sat on the bow it seemed to go better. Any ideas as to the correct outboard height etc...
