Where do I hook up a tachometer to my 1986 30hp Evinrude? I understand that it's to a wire coming from the alternator area but I don't know which wire. I've looked at my Clymer Johnson/Evinrude manual but all I see is color coding but no description of which wire is correct. Thanks for any help.

I bought three carbs for my 86 Yamaha 40hp engine. The carbs that came off the engine had choke butterflies. The three carbs I bought were from a newer engine and don't have any chokes. They did come with a small unit that apparently pumps fuel in behind the carbs instead of chokes. Any idea of...
