    Poor handling

    My '69 Merc 650 is on a 14' Calypso Cutter fibreglass rated for 50. The bottom is smooth and fairly flat for the whole back half of the boat. She leans in straightaways and thrashes about suddenly in turns. Played with the non-power trim a lot. Gonna try a different prop I guess. Anyone know...

    Sunken

    1969 Merc 650 submerged due to violent weather. We got it out after less than 24 hours in fresh water. I've read some previous posts - I understand the concerns regarding the boat... I just want to make sure I know how to care for the outboard. Sounds like long term electrical is the concern...?

    Dirty old thing

    I have an old Evinrude 18 horse - not sure of the year yet but I think late 1950's. Leaves white oily droplets coming up to the surface of the water by the dock. Any suggestions as to where I can start? I am picking up a manual later this week.<br />Thanks.

    Wiring woes solved

    1969 Mercury 650 Wouldn't shut off with key, opened Mercontrol and was greeted with bared wires arcing. Now no spark in engine. Seloc says type III ignition. Fixed the harness.<br />Anyone got a more step by step troubleshooting process for this engine? Serial# 2507245<br />Would appreciate...

    Serial# 2507245 Wouldn't shut off with key, opened Mercontrol and was greeted with bared wires arcing. Now no spark in engine. Trying to check out with Seloc. Says type III ignition. Anyone got a more step by step troubleshooting process?<br />Thanks
