    1970 evinrude 25 hp runs in gear but won't idle

    25 hp 1970 evinrude will just sputter and cough when i try to start it. It will limp along if i spray a little gas directly into the carb. Put it in forward and it will start up and run.

    what year and fuel mix

    Looking at buying a 25 hp Evinrude. Serial # is 25002C E06395. Anyone know what year this is and what fuel mixture it uses? This motor was used for 2 or 3 seasons and has been in storage for the last 30 years. Anyone know a market value? Thanks!

    rpms on 64 evinrude 9.5

    I am using a 64 evinrude sportwin 9.5 hp on a little jon boat. The motor plate says 9.5 hp at 4500 rpm. I don't think I am even close to 4500 rpm at full throtle. Is there anyway to measure rpm?

    how much hp do i need?

    Realizing that more is probably better......I have a 16 ft polarcraft jon that i need to put an engine on.<br />I have an older 9.5hp evinrude that runs like new. The boat is rated for 25 hp motor. Can I get by one season with the 9.5 or should I buy a new 25?

    Does anyone have any experiances or opinions about polar kraft jon boats. I am close to purchasing one <br />am and curious. My dealer hasn't had the brand long so he dosen't have a lot of experiance with them.

    64 evinrude impeller

    How hard is it to put a water pump impeller in? I do <br />most all my own car maintanance and I'm not intimidated by mechanical work I'm just an outboard rookie. Should I take in to the local boat shop or try it myself?
