    Merc. 9.8 carb

    I just bought a Merc. 9.8 serial # 5823140.<br />I believe it is a early to mid 80's motor. I was wondering if I could replace the 9.8 carb with a 15 hp carb. Thank you in advance for any and all info.

    Mariner electrical problem update.

    I have tried to check the power coming into the motor. From the positive terminal the wire goes to what appears to be a "coil". From ground to that terminal I have 12v. Form the other terminal on the "coil" in which a wire goes to the starter, I have nothing. I tried to ohm it out and it appears...

    mariner starting problem

    I have a 1996 Mariner 25EL, s# 06399170. Ihave tried two fully charged baterries and still can not get the motor to turn over. :confused:
