Hey,
My buddy and I were working on his 40 hp etec and the plastic nipple on the fuel vapor seporator broke (the bottom return I think). Does anyone know if the bottom plate of a 150hp will work? Can only buy the whole assembly but we can get a cheap one for a 150hp. They whole assembly look...
Hey all,
I have a relatively new painted aluminum boat and would like to prevent as much corrosion as possible as I use this boat in salt water fairly often. The boat is always kept on a trailer when not in use. I'm worried about corrosion from the salt water soaked bunk carpet. Has any one...
Ya I have noticed that. Tried the same pitch of black max and hustler props. The 13p hustler seems to get on plane a bit quicker but overall the mercury props seem better overall on my setup.
Not really worried about hitting the rev limiter trying to find a good balance between top end and acceleration. 6000 rpms was with the wife and kids and some fishing gear.
Looking for some opinions on WOT rpm range. Do most people aim to reach the upper end of recommended rpm range or the middle? I have a 60hp merc 4 stroke (5500 to 6000). Can hit 6000 rpm with a 13p blackmax. Should I try a 14p to get in the middle of thr recommended range?
Figured I'd give an update! I tried the hustler 3 blade 15 pitch prop and the wot rpms dropped to 5200. Looks like the hustler 3 blade 13 pitch is what I will be sticking with. I didn't expect my max rpms to drop that much!
Ok so I tried a 3 blade 13 pitch hustler prop got about the same speed but rpms went from 5200 to over 6200! Maybe a 3 blade 15 pitch would hit the sweet spot?
It goes negative if I switch them. If I disconnect thr positive terminal and just connect negative batter terminal to the hull still getting 0.6 volts.. I guess I'll have yo look for a wire or something...
Hey everyone,
I have a new to me aluminum hull boat and was just going over a few things after doing some research on this fourm. I noticed 0.6 volts dc when I connect the meter to the negative battery terminal and the hull. Is this something to be concerned about?
Thanks
I'd be super happy if I could get 35 mph. Next time I'll use the GPS. I don't have much faith in the boat speedo. The motor is 2 years old and everything seems to be working fine. Checked the plugs and compression all looked good. Throttle linkage seems to be adjusted properly too.
