When building out new above deck furniture what type of wood do you guys recommend? 1x2, 2x2, 2x4, plywoods? I am framing a new bench seat, a new motor cover which will all be covered with upholstery. Thanks.
How possible is it to rebuild an alternator for an OMC Cobra 5.0? Or is it better just to replace it? Will an auto parts store carry this type of alternator? The alternator is a Presto 83m2004kb. The batter voltage is 12.5 Volts when the engine is running. 12 volts when it isn't. Thanks...

I am a rookie and am working to troubleshoot the starting of a omc cobra 5.0 motor using the starter troubleshooting guide on this site.
So I get to testing the starter solenoid and realized the battery cable crimping had come loose...
Starting up boat for first time in 2 years. When trying to start all I hear is a pop/click noise. I am starting the omc cobra 5.0 directly from the slave starter solenoid following these instructions. Any ideas? Thanks.

12 volts (+) to (+) side...
I currently do not have the key hooked up on an omc cobra 5.0 and would like to start it up to test the engine/outdrive. How do I hard wire jumper the starter? thanks.
what is the best way to re-install a 94 cobra 5.0 onto the motor mounts? I am having difficulty getting the engine all the way back on the rear motor mounts so I am wondering if I am putting it back wrong.

My key is currently disconnected and I need to jumper the starter. Will the fuel pump activate on its own or do I need to jumper the fuel pump too? Its a 1994 OMC Cobra 5.0. Thanks.
I think I did this right. I have a 1994 OMC Cobra 5.0 Outdrive that is now stuck. I removed the six bolts, put it in forward, removed the trim pivot rod and set aside the hydralic lifts on a 1994 Cobra Outdrive. But it is stuck and I can't get it to budge. I just hit is with the PB blaster...
I need to lift a 1994 Cobra 5.0 to put in new freeze plugs. What will I need to disconnect besides the motor mounts to lift the motor?
I am not removing the engine, just lifting it to put in new plugs.
