1976 6 hp Evinrude "slipping or over reving" coming up on throttle.

That makes more sense now. Sometimes the exploded diagram gets a bit confusing when they try and fit everything on the page. As always, a wealth of information on here from a bunch of different people and each and every one is appreciated! Scott

1976 6 hp Evinrude "slipping or over reving" coming up on throttle.

Can the prop slip on the hub? The diagram shows an 0 ring in front of the prop but I don't see one. Would that be between the prop and the hub? Is there a way to check the hub? The cheapest prop i can find is $55. That's not bad at all but I hate to buy it if I don't need it. Thanks again.

1976 6 hp Evinrude "slipping or over reving" coming up on throttle.

In open water, after it slipped a couple more times, it ran fine at full throttle. "Coming up on plane", nice try, its a...

Doesn't always want to go into neutral.

I have a 1999 Bayliner Capri 2050, 5.0, Alpha 1 gen. 2. Mercruiser stearn drive. It seems to shift fully into forward and reverse with no problem. My problem is when approaching a dock or when putting it on the trailer, it's hard to "find neutral". I have to pull it past neutral a little bit...

    throttle cam alignment for 6604a

I have a 1976 6hp #6604A Evinrude outboard. I need the throttle cam settings. Does the front edge of the cam follower roller or the center of the follower roller have to line up with the two cam marks? I've done this before with a throttle shaft amplifier hooked to the carb shaft. I just...
