Lol, my saga never ends... To anyone who has followed my troubles with the vacuum issue I had recently, the motor is running great now! But I have another issue...
I noticed a while back when testing on muffs the voltage would rise and rise the longer the boat idled. Figured the rectifier was...
Re: Vacuum on carbs 1 & 2 a lot more than 3... What gives?
Here is the best pictures my camera would let me take of the reed block on the bottom two cylinders.
Looking at buying another project bass boat. The boat was hit in the transom by another boat and has some internal transom damage. The boat was totaled by the insurance company. I have a good friend who works at the yard this boat was brought to and will be auctioned off from. By looking at the...
What could be some possible causes for this issue? It's an '83 115hp inline 6. Carbs have been cleaned three times. They are spotless. The motor starts to miss just after you start it. The idle screw for carb 3 doesn't really do anything much when adjusted in or out. And like I said, they have...
I have the gasket, but thanks to reading here have found out that the bolts are epoxied and need to be heated to remove and then some form of epoxy to reinstall... My symptoms are as follows. Motor acted up, lost rpms, and then once off plane wouldn't come back up on plane. NO POWER! Symptons...
Help please... Looked and looked on the internet for a kit with all gaskets to fit this motor but I can't find a complete kit. This is supposedly the factory impeller part number, 47-89984T-4. Would like to have that and all gaskets to go along with it. Any help is appreciated!
Thanks!
Any opinions on this? I know gauges can vary, but I only have one gauge and it reads 120psi on cylinders 1,3,4,5,6. However cylinder #2 is reading around or just shy of 100psi. The motor acted up a couple weeks ago on the lake while running on plane and dropped around 1,000rpms. When I did come...
Wanted some opinions here. While on the lake the other day my motor was running great with a light load. Few days later I had it out again, but this time it was loaded down with six people when I normally only have two in my bass boat. Ran great for a couple miles up the lake and then suddenly...
Re: '98 Glassport 170V fiberglass Bass Boat Overhaul
Thanks Woodonglass! I appreciate the help. Lol, and thanks for correcting me on chines... I would have been calling them chimes until the day I die otherwise... :) I do have a couple questions. I have seen some drawings similar to yours...
Re: '98 Glassport 170V fiberglass Bass Boat Overhaul
So far I have 25 yards of CSM, 15 yards of 1708 biaxial, 5 gallons of resin and 4 tubes of PL Adhesive. thoughts? Hopefully going to sand out where the old stringers up front used to be this week and maybe get them glassed in first of next...
Re: '98 Glassport 170V fiberglass Bass Boat Overhaul
The bow of the boat would not trim up last year and I thought I had a prop problem, which I still may, but after tearing the boat apart it was no wonder... It's unbelievable how much water I had in the foam and wood up front.
First off I want to thank everyone on this site for all of your great info! This site is the best when it comes to anything boating related and everyone on here makes it so... Here is my project. I bought this boat back in February last year. I got it for just $2,000 so I figured it was going to...
I know I will make a few cringe with this, but in my bass boat I only run two batteries. I have a 12/24v 56lb thrust trolling motor and my 115hp Mariner. I use battery 1 to start the motor and run all 12v accessories (as well as run my TM on 12v if I like which I never do). Battery 2 of course...
