I'm not sure what the year is its a Mercury 20 hp twin 2252424 is the number on it. What its doing is when its in the water it will go foward ok for a few secs then it will rev up high like its in netural and wont move I think its something to do with the propeller but not sure

Here is the problem i took my boat out to the lake last week on my way back across the lake the engine didnt want to stay running and i started smelling rubber burning so i cut it off and floated a bit i got it...
i have a johnson 6hp it smoke a good bit but runs good today i noticed a lot of white milky chunk coming out of the shaft is there any way i can find a rebuild guide so i can rebuild it
