    was running great until.....79 evinrude 115 hp question

    Was on the water today running about 40 and all of sudden the rpms dropped to about 2000 and I couldn't get the boat past 20. Could it be a fouled plug or? It was all of sudden and the motor ran great all day. Running 50:1 91 octane and quicksilver oil. Any ideas would be appreciated.

    I have to bang on the yellow electric motor to get it to work.Thinking its all corroded in side. Can I remove the motor without taking the entire engine off the boat? Looks liek 2 phillips head screws holding it on.

    oil/fuel ratio 1964 evinrude 28 hp confusion

    On the inside of my motor cover, it says to mix 1 qt oil to 6 gallons gas. It also states 1-24. I have been running 50:1 and now i'm concerned about it. Does this mean I should be running 24:1 mix?
