    Anyone Seen these?

I drove my grandpa's caddy...same year as our GMC Safari. The audio system, controls for the A/C and heat, headlight switch, etc....all the same. It's been awhile, but I looked at the caddy/suburban cousins 10 years ago. The primary difference was extra sound insulation and some fancy wood...

    Anyone Seen these?

Nope. I assume that most people on a boating forum are do-it-yourself types. Money to burn people don't go to a forum to debug their problems, learn how to trailer their boat, find the right anchor for their needs, etc. They pay people for that. I'm sure there are plenty of people here with...

    Anyone Seen these?

I don't resent people who spend money on stuff like that. More power to 'em (and the people who take advantage of them). I knew a guy who built woodstrip canoes and sold them for $15,000. He was smart and marketed to the people with money to burn and he had a multi-year waiting list. Good...

    Anyone Seen these?

There are definitely people who spend money with reckless abandon, but not everyone would pay that. I could afford it....I wrote a $30,000 check for my boat. But I don't spend money without expecting something in return. So far, I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe I'd get the...

    Anyone Seen these?

No one is afraid of a new concept in prop technology. They're afraid of $5K price tag and doubtful that the concept delivers from an ROI perspective. If it does, great. I'm sure we'll hear tons of users raving about how great it is. Just bear in mind, for that price differential, the...

    Anyone Seen these?

I paid $30,000 for my 07 crownline 240 LS. It has a bravo III outdrive. I'd be increasing my investment in my boat by 25% by buying a pair of those if they even made 'em for the bravo III. I'm really struggling to imagine a performance ROI that makes that worthwhile, but maybe it's the...

    Marine Audio and CD Receivers

I'm not sure what a molex connector is, but my new radio (Fusion) has plug in connectors to the radio, so removing the unit is easy regardless of how the rest of wiring is setup, that's not an issue. The existing speaker wiring on my boat is all through a square plastic connector (I think it's...

    Marine Audio and CD Receivers

I got Gardner-Bender Xtreme waterproof butt splice connectors for my installation. They have built in shrink wrap and are supposed to be waterproof when done. I haven't installed the unit yet, so I can't really recommend them, but the reviews are very good. The new radio I got for my boat is...

    Marine Audio and CD Receivers

On my boat it's about 13 wires. 6 pairs for the 6 speakers and one for the control line that turns the amp on when the head unit is turned on. Not a huge job, but not as nice as "here's a custom plug that will work from your boat's wiring harness to this receiver".

    Marine Audio and CD Receivers

In general, crutchfield is a good source for that info. They have a live chat feature. Depending on the age, probably not. I have an 07 crownline and the wiring harness and interface to the remote on the transom are obsolete. I found a pretty nice 2 zone head unit that will work pretty nice...

    1969 Glassmaster 17' trihull

Was that the V6 they made by essentially chopping off two cylinders from a V8? If so, I had that in my '66 skylark.

    Keel Guard Question

My new (to me) 07 crownline already has wear through the gelcoat from a lot of beaching. Not sure if it's worth adding something like this at this point or not. We've only had the boat for 6 weeks, been out quite a but but haven't beached it yet.

    Box Anchors?

So...does that mean they're hard to retrieve or more likely to be thrown overboard without the line attached? Growing up on the Mississippi we had some anchors for our houseboat that were really set, but nothing we couldn't put a few wraps on a cleat and power loose.

    Box Anchors?

What's the verdict on these. I've seen reviews that make them sound like the greatest thing ever and demonstrations of how they work seem pretty impressive. Where I like to anchor we can get swirling winds, so something that will easily reset itself with a change in direction sounds really...

    Towable recommendation

We got a WOW Big Bazooka and ran it for the first time on Sunday. I picked it because the videos looked like it was more maneuverable and exciting than a standard tube. The "kids" (youngest is 22) had a good time on it. I took a ride and it was a workout. I got dumped pretty quick after...
