Just curious if anyone else has difficulty finding the full synthetic Pennzoil marine oil! Last year I was able to purchase it a WalMart but this year all I can find (at two different stores) is synthetic blend. I've been doing hours of research and found nothing online. None of the auto...
Okay finally got this thing out into the water and I came up with the following:
GPS 43 mph @ 6000 rpm
Boat specs: hull wt 800 lbs, motor wt 300, had approx 400 lbs passenger weight and stuff and 8 gallons of fuel.
Using a Mercury Vengeance 16P SS prop
Boat model: witchcraft banshee
Motor: 1978...
I was looking up weight info on my boat, but it does not state if this is just the hull, or hull and motor weight combined. I notice a lot of the boats on there are listed this way.

I recently bought a 1978 17' witchcraft banshee with 115hp merc. Just curious what size prop this merc would be able to turn. Currently it has a Mercury Vengeance 16P SS prop. The guy I bought it from claims the boat does 60mph but I'm calling his bluff before I even get it in the water...
I'm getting closer to getting this merc running again. She's trying to start but it's just not happening. So because I bought an extra used distributor, I decided what the heck, might as well try it. It's installed now and not really any improvement but I have a question. What are the chances...
How can I decode this prop number? I'm not sure this is the correct prop for my motor. It was actually on BACKWARDS when I bought the boat!
48-73136A 4 13P is the part number. What's the correct oem part number for the 1974 3cyl 650's? If it helps, my ser# is 4046610. I don't see this part...
I have a '74 Merc 650 that probably needs a new coil. I've noticed this part number (332-4895 T2)is difficult to find, whereas a similar part (339-7370A13) is readily available. Are these parts interchangeable or should I avoid trying to do this?
