    engine ticks ramdomly at idle, backfire thru carb when WOTing from 2800rpm

    I finaly got the boat in the water after the carb rebuild, a trim hose change. so at idle the motor seems to ping (too advanced ignition?) but it's ramdom... It's a 84 OMC 5.7 with a Quadrajet and an Accel distributor (coil/cap in one) When going from idle to WOT the boat seems to do it's job...

    Rochester Fast Idle cam??

    I have a OMC 350 260hp in my boat and I just had the carb rebuilt, it's a 4MV/divorced choke (Q-Jet). The guy told me I didn't have the cam/linkage for the Fast Idle on it. Got the boat like that, any problem about that? Should I try to get the linkage/cam from another one?
