Pardon me for the simple question, but I replaced the coils on my 1985 Mercury 20hp 2 cycle and I forgot which spark plug wire connects to the top spark plug and which to the bottom spark plug. I was actually smart enough to take a photo of the coil wiring but not smart enough to take a photo of...
I have a 1985 Mercury 20hp motor. I rebuilt the carb this spring and it works great...for a while. I turned the mixture screw all the way to the right & 1 3/8 turns back. Set like that the engine starts first pull, isles in neutral and idles for trolling. However, after running it for over 15...

Pardon me gentlemen for the questions, but I am new to boat repair.
My 1980 Mercruiser 470 needs to be primed to start when it's cold, once it gets going it runs fantastic and starts with a touch of the key, even after hours of use. Fuel pump?
Secondly, I have installed the alternator kit and...
1980 Silverline with a 470 Mercruiser that pulls to port. Should I adjust the trim tab anode to correct this? and how much in which direction.
I know it's a simple question, but I'm new.
