    77 merc 150 parts will they fit 1974?????

    does anyone know if parts off a 1977 inline 6 150hp will fit my 1974 inline-6 150hp? my serial number is 3913808 and the serial number of the 77 is 753426.<br />your help is greatly appreciated!

    the price of tune-up parts! is the dealer full of ***X

    the local dealer all but laughed at me when I said I was wanting plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor. he said those parts new are worth more than my hole engine?? said cap is around 100.00 and rotor close to 300.00! is he full of ***x or are these parts REALLY that hard to come by?
