    Can anyone give me the area in Iboats to find the little rubber elbow nossel where the water pump tell tale check comes through the coul 500 50 merc.

    50 hp no fire

    Can anyone tell me where to find the ign wire at the engine? I want to connect 12 volts to make sure the ign switch is not my problem. It will some times start and run 2 seconds and stop wont start for 30 trys after. I know its not a fuel problem because priming it does no different. Thanks

    1979 50 hp merc

    Engine runs fine when on muffs, but wont accelerate when in water. Just idles smooth and when acceelerated just dies. This just happened sudenly when out on the lake for a day. Stopped to fish and when restarted it would only idle back to the boat ramp. Runs on all four cylinders when at idle...

    Leaking rivots

    Any way to seal leaking rivots? Someone has tried to epoxie them from the outside and it cracks and gets rubed off the hull. Quite a few leaking. All under the decking.

    Above idle problem

    Fishing this weekend and 1979 50 hp merc ran fine for two days. Last trip it would not accelerate above a idle or it sounds like it is starving for fuel. Idled two miles back to boat ramp and checked bulb it was hard. Next morn it started right up but had to hit choke quite often to keep it...

    Hava a bass boat without a speedometer. I noticed the fish finder has provisions for a speed transducer. Any good or am i wasting my time?

    Hell bender

    For years i fished with Heddon hell benders with the best result ever. What happened to the heddon company? Best trilling and retreving lure in the world is gone. When nothing else works it produces, so sad.

    trailer turn signal problem

    My trailer turn signals work well on my other vehicles. My 2006 frontier turn signals work well when no trailer is attached. When towing the trailer the signal will blink a few times the first time used. After that they will flash once and then stay solid lit .

    Charge problem

    500 50 hp merc found a defective rec one stud closed the other two open. Also no 12 volt to the rec My question is can i run a lead to the pos side of solonoid to by pass the broken wire in the harness?

    I cant find any air fuel mixture screews on the two carbs on a 1979 5oo 4 cylinder 50 HP. Are they fixed?

    No charge problem

    1979 500 50 HP will not charge. Battery is 1265 when stopped and 1211 when fast idle. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

    Merc four cylinder

    I used to have a 50 hp three cylinder, now have a four cylinder. Is there a preference as to the best motor or is it the year? If some one could give me the year i need it. Ser# 496378 50 hp model 500. Thanks for your trouble.
