Ok, thanks to advice from this community, I pulled the head off my 135 Mariner this morning.

I have a mid 90's carbureted 6 cylinder Mariner 135. The stream has always been kinda weak, even when the impeller was new. Today I was running the boat (with a potential buyer on board) and the carbs flooded out. We drifted a bit, got the boat fired up, and kept running. That is when the...
I recently purchased a 135 Mariner from a boat dealer. The dealer recommended that they remove the oil tank and that I pre mix the fuel. I ran the boat for a couple of weeks with no problems. I brought the boat back to the deler to have a new fuel sender installed because I had a leak at the...
I have a late 90's carburated 200 HP Mariner. The motor started surging when running in the mid range. I replaced a couple of spark plug wires and all plugs. I checked the spark from the plug wires and there is a white spark at all wires. The motor is now running terrible. I cannot give it...
Good Morning, just got my boat back from the mechanic, he put my powerhead on a sort shaft motor. Ok here is the problem, the starter turns over but the motor will not fire. I have fuel and I have spark at the plug wires. I have seen the boat run at the shop, but it will not run now. The neutral...
I have a 200 Hp Mariner. I recently replaced the trim unit as part of a rebuild project on my boat. The first problem I had was that the tilt/trim switch on my shifter was not providing enough power to tilt the motor. I went with a seperate switch and it seems that this problem is corrected. I...
I am in the final stages of putting my boat back together. I am rigging the new console and I have run into another problem. I bought a used tilt/trim unit and installed. The unit worked fine if I hooked it up to the battery. Last night I tied it back in to the remote wires, both at the shifter...
My original thread read as such:
"This concerns a 2000? Mariner 200HP carbuerated motor. I am on the downhill run coming off a 3 month rebuild. I pulled my wiring harness to the console. I have a new switch, which has identical wire markings as harness. I attached all wires (red to red, blk to...
I have a new helm, steering wheel and console. I need to remove the wheel so that I can rotate the helm (clearance issue below). I have jerked and snatched and cannot get the wheel off. The console is not screwed down yet, which limits the amount of force I can use. I have s car steering wheel...

Has anyone ever mounted the shark eye lights? I ordered a pair and now I am questioning the intelligence of drilling into my hull. I have seen them mounted both on the flared part of the bow and also just above the rub rail. Any thoughts?
I have a new center console and I need to mount the plastic windshield. My last attempt on the old console, I cracked the plastic at the screw holes. Anyone have any suggestions for a technique, tool I should be using? I looked thru archives and could not really find an answer.
OK, I removed the hardened mass that was a rubber matt over my floor. I hope the installer burns in hell. Here is my problem. My floor is fiberglass and after removing the matt, there is alot of pitted and potmarked fiberglass and I am unsure of my next move. I was going to paint the floor...
OK, this started out as a bottom paint job and has morphed into this project. The floor is covered with this ?rubber? matt that is held down by the hardest substance known to man. I am currently removing with a metal scraper, brick cutter, and a 2 pound hammer. My next move is a wire cup brush...
