Just got this 1990 bayliner Cuddy with a 90 force 120hp. I just replaced the battery and starter with a new one. I had it out on the water today. Was running around great. I loaded up the boat went home and 5 hours later I took the family out.

I just got a 71 merc 115 inline 6. The shifting box is messed up. Every time I try to put it in reverse it gets stuck. Works fine from forward to Neutral.
Can I put a new box on this or does it have to be merc controller?
Just put new plugs and wires on. I had it running on the boat dock for 10 min and when it died. No Chug a lug, just dead. When I got it back. I noticed no spark.
Plug wires ohm out just fine.
Bad Coil?? I put a ohm meter across the input of the coil and it read 0 ohms? Is this right...
when I put the unit into reverse it grinds a bit like its not locking in. :confused: It does back up very slow. is that just cable adjustment. also when putting it in forward it shifts very hard, loud clunk.
I have to replace the fuel line and possibly the fuel cap, the tank expands and does...
