    UPDATE - 1982 150 BlackMax - Will Not Accelerate

    Engine idles fine, and boat moves fine at slow speed. However, if you accelerate beyond 1/4 throttle, it bogs and coughs and won't accelerate. It doesn't die, but it just sits there bogging down. Occasionally, it will accelerate correctly, but this only seems to happen right after launching...

    1958 Evinrude starting/idling problem

    I have a '58 Evinrude Fast Twin 18. If I pour some gas into the carb silencer, I can get the engine to fire and idle roughly for 5-10 seconds. It won't continue to run, and it won't fire or start without pouring the gas in it. I have now rebuilt the carbs, cleaned out the filters and lines...
